They are wonderful fliers...handle them enough they come to you or they will be on top of the garage in no time!
Yeah my son accidentally let mom and dad out. Good thing that boys fast. But my babies have been super skittish since hatching and don't like being touched.

Approach them from the side instead of the top if you can so they don't think you are a bird of prey coming to eat them.

Well just the four hatched, one culled because it could not stand and looked paralyzed. One has splayed legs, the other two are perfect. One has a white toe, everything else is black. So sweet are these babies, so tiny.
If the toe is clear it will eventually color in black.

I am glad you have 2, but I wish more had hatched. They have been hatching well here. I sent you a PM. :)

I found out today that I am hatching woollies from one of my pens, so my original cock from GFF was also a carrier. I suspected that from what others have been hatching recently from birds they got from me. I have been talking to another breeder who has the woollies and hope to get some eggs from him soon. I have quite a bit of test breeding to do to find at least one cockerel that doesn't carry the woolly gene to put with my ECF girls to make a non-woolly trio.

Anyone!! Thinking I have a Svart Hona chick?? Currently is a week old.

It may be possible, but it is also possible that it is not. What is the history of the chick?

Well a week ago my hubby purchased 6 chicks from TSC, this was the only black one he picked, of course out of assorted bin. I started another thread and no one was quite sure what breed it is. I checked the skin, vent, and the mouth, they are greyish in color, also it's also much smaller than my other chicks.
