~The Threat of The Shadows~ A Warrior Cat RP

After watching her go, Hickoryshade crept along the other side, ears pricked and tail low, waiting to catch a scent.

Setting for a few moments, her amber eyes quickly picked out a young mouse scuffling among the leaves. It was so small it was barely enough to feed a kit! She grumbled internally, and waited a bit longer. Finally something worth the wait, a squirrel slowly scurried down one of the trees, sitting on it's hind legs and began chewing on one of the nuts. Creeping forward ever so slowly she prepared to leap on the squirrel. But one of the leaves from last Leaf-Fall crunched and squirrel shot back up the tree. Flattening her ears, she'd return to her hiding spot and wait once more.

He gave her an encouraging flick with his tail from where he crouched a few tail-lengths away. After a bit of waiting, a squirrel scurried by and he pounced, killing it swiftly.

Flicking her ears she watched him swiftly kill the squirrel. "Nice catch!" She praised, then pouncing on a mouse of her own, giving it a quick nip to the neck before carrying it in her mouth. She set it down at her paws and looked over the squirrel. "That monster would feed the whole clan!" She joked, the squirrel was rather large. Looking sort of funny hanging from his mouth. "Maybe we can catch a couple more mice and head back?" She asked, flicking her tail as she buried her mouse.

“Sounds good,” he nodded as he buried his squirrel beside her mouse.

Meadowfrost nodded, turned an padded toward a blackberry bush. She knew prey loved the blackberries, but the thorns made it hard to move around quietly. So she took a small paw-full of blackberrries in her mouth and laid them at the base of a tree beside the root. Her bait set, the she-cat would sit and wait for her prey to come to her. She wished she were fishing instead. She remember when she was younger and first coming into Thunderclan, her father stopped at the river and caught them a small fish to eat. She had always loved the water, the way it looked, felt, and what it held in it's cool waves. In her thoughts, she almost missed the mouse nibbling her bait. Snapping out of her thoughts, she quickly leapt out and caught the mouse in her paws. Giving it a nip and carrying it back to the pile. Hmm perhaps 2 more should suffice, but then we wouldn't be able to carry it all. There was the squirrel and one of them could carry up to at least 3 mice. Flattening her ears, she decided she would wait by their small makeshift prey pile, if Hickoryshade brought back something they would return to the clan.

Beetlepaw huffed but decided she didn't really want to stay on this conversation anymore either, she couldn't defend herself that well anyways "Yeah, alright." She mumbled as she stood with a stretch, she had more important matters to think about anyway.
"Silver-eyes knows how to pick a good fight." Breezepaw mused, suddenly beside her sister with no warning. "Mhm, yes, alright, I'll tell her." She mumbled under her breath. "She says you have to go check the den where the little ones rest. She says the one with the pelt of clouds and eyes like the place the sun drowns calls for your attention."

Hickoryshade caught a small mouse and set it in the mini fresh-kill pile before going to check on Meadowfrost.

Beetlepaw didn't even flinch at her sister's sudden appearance and she blinked at Breezepaw's words. "Kits?... Oh no they weren't born yet were they? Winterfire will kill me for not being there!" she exclaimed stressfully. "Thanks for letting me know! There's nothing I would be able to do with out you!" She told her sister hurriedly as she darted for the Nursery, a wave of her tail as a fast thankful goodbye to Breezepaw.

Breezepaw shrugged, flicking her feathery tail in fair well to the stressed medicine cat apprentice. She glanced around camp, giving another shrug for no apparent reason, and padded into the apprentices den, curling up in her nest and tucking her tail over her nose.
