My own Mille Fleur Serama breed. I’m sure it’s been done quite a bit already. Evvie was certainly a surprise to me. And, she was in total broody mode 12 days after the lay of her first egg! Both her parents are such sweet-tempered as well (Ruby and Puddle). My Seramas are great ‘Super Broodies’. It’s going to be so adorable when your girls enter broody mode!

That really is something! Cruella was laying for less than a month before going broody the first time round, she was young as well.



None of the serama girls have gone broody yet, I like it that way. Once we stop with the egg collections, any and all hens and pullets on the property are more than welcome to brood! First and foremost, Cruella of course. I wonder how feisty Foureira would be as a broody. She's a terror even when not in broody mode

Perhaps you’d have to watch that little broody raptor from afar… very far! Well, I think it’s safe to say that HER chicks would be TOTALLY protected at all times from everyone and everything!!

Yes, Foureira is a spicy girl. I hope I'll get a chance to see her broody potential. Something in her eyes tells me she will go broody at least once. I had that feeling with Cruella as well. Of course, Cruella will always be my favourite (and I could tell that she was going to be so much more than a good broody from the first day I met her), but Foureira doesn't need to know that.

Right now the serama pen isn't great for any hopeful broody, but I'm hoping I can change that over the Easter Holidays

Before I first began my Serama journey, my goodness!, I did so much research. But, I knew I HAD TO HAVE THEM! So, I wasn’t scared away from it even though I understood the potential difficulties with hatches, etc. I’m excited for you to be incubating your very own eggs from your very own Serama girls! The first time I used my incubator, and I was so anxious during the entire incubation of 5 eggs. And, during those lockdown days, I laid by that incubator (I really did) for such long periods of time. Then, the first pips, and then hatches, and I was elated! Success! I think back to that first time often and know that every second staring at those tiny eggs was more than worth it! You’re going to be a success, Fluffy.

Because that time is approaching...here is a eurovision song back when the contest was more fun . IMO, after covid the contest just hasn't been the same (although 2021 wasn't overly bad)

I appreciate it, Fluffy. The first time I attempt anything, like incubating Serama eggs, I have to know that I’m truly prepared. That being said, watching a broody do the incubating is SO MUCH EASIER… and less anxiety involved! It’s so nice to walk in, lift up a teeny girl, and discover an itsy bitsy chick!!!! And, my Serama broodies don’t act like velociraptors! It’s really quite cute.
