Sorry I’m late!

Actually, Fluffy… EVVIE! But, she is only 1/2 Serama (the other 1/2 is Mille Fleur d’Uccle). She’s currently in total mama beast mode, protecting a single egg. My “little shadow” growls at every shadow, every change in lighting, any sound at all. She is protecting that egg at all costs in her little broody box inside the growout room of the quail building. To her credit, she will allow me to remove the egg for candling without my hands getting massacred.
For my pure Serama females… I haven’t had one YET in mama beast mode. Beautiful Foureira is going to be an excellent protector. My girls are sweet (maybe too sweet), and they don’t show that broody fire. That may be due to lots of handling as they were growing. Clovie, for example, lets me lift her, pet her, take her egg to candle. All she does to react is cheep a little for me disturbing her sleep. I always remove my broody girls from the flock while they’re incubating, because they get walked all over by other hens wanting in their nests.
Your Foureira will be a terrific mother. Seramas are known for that.
