I think i git them a month ago , I haven't seen them swim, they never try to use the ladder thst I've seen and no they are more terrified than the much smaller pullets so haven't seen their feet but ill look in the morningHello and welcome to BYC.
Have you examined her legs and felt them carefully for any swelling and or warm/hot spots indicating injuries? Look at the bottom of her feet for any lumps or spots that may be Bumblefoot? I’m thinking an injury is most likely because of the ladder. Are they actually trying to use the ladder? Or just sleeping on the ground underneath.
How old are they and what do you feed them? Do you supplement with niacin?
Do they have a baby pool or other swimming provision?
When I first got Ducks, I started with a chicken coop similar to yours, and I took out the ladder, removed the floor piece from the little house part , and the roost bars, also removed the wall of the house part that has the little door. and then attached plywood around the outside bottom half of house end of the coop. I also paved the floor with pavers stones and added more paver stones outside all around.
They really shouldn’t have a ladder and even ramps are difficult for them.
Please also post in the ducks forum we have here and let us know if you find an injury and we can try to help you going on from there.
Oh, so you have chickens in there with them I see . What kind of feed do you give themI think i git them a month ago , I haven't seen them swim, they never try to use the ladder thst I've seen and no they are more terrified than the much smaller pullets so haven't seen their feet but ill look in the morning
