Hello,

This thread is for poultry.
I would prefer it kept to the basics of chickens, but other poultry is fine.

This thread is intended for use of the following:
  1. Learning. What varieties there are and what there can be. Including learning of varieties we never had officially heard of quite yet and what we want to consider getting.
  2. Fun. with discussing and decision making on what varieties there are and will be.
  3. Discussion. of what variety we like most, least and don't know of yet.
  4. Creating New Breeds. Thinking of possibilities there can be, and hoping etc trying it too!
  5. Helping. Help other with and questions or concerns.
We are not all experts. This thread is not intended for the breeding of S.O.P. Just for fun and anybody is welcome.

Please ask questions, and try to help answer thy questions. Please have fun and follow all BY-C rules. By joining this thread you have to make a promise; 'I promise I shall not jump to conclusions.' This means you don't etc won't correct somebody if you are not sure you are correct.

Variety meaning: The quality or state of being different or diverse; the absence of uniformity, sameness, or monotony.

We will be discussing different varieties of poultry. Please have fun and contact me if concerned!

You're welcome, and I would have to say my favorite variety is the Salmon Faverolle, I currently do not have any, but have always been a fan of them

I love Salmon, they are beautiful birds. I have them and I would highly speak of them- also, I suggest them fully. They make wonderful mother hens, too.

My favorite variety so far will have to be Buff, Blue or Salmon. They have been the sweetest, calmest hens and roosters. Perfect for any flock.

Even though buff isn't the most pop of color,
they sure are sweet and delicate to look at as well as to own.

Next question:
  1. What is your least favorite variety of chicken?

Sincerely,
The Angry Hen

My least favorite variety is the Turken

Yes, I have to agree! Turken and naked necks.
They are okay, but I sorta feel they aren't as nice for a backyard chicken...

Next question:
  1. What two varieties have you bred together and was your favorite, (please include a picture if you do have one!)
Sincerely,
-The Angry Hen

They are quite beautiful! I think that is a wonderful cross.
I often wanted to get a Phoenix rooster, but my Dad worries he will step on their tail.

Which one variety out of the both you crossed did you think was prettier?

Sincerely,
The Angry Hen
