Katrina grabbed a pastry cooling on a pan while the cook wasn't looking, then hurried from the room. Checking to make sure no one was watching, she descended the small staircase to where Gavin resided. "Gavin? You down 'ere?" She whispered loudly.

Maud entered. "Hello, Princess. Tea and cake?" She asked.

Jane smiled at the princes as she headed towards them. "Cliffton, I have been looking for you," she said. Edwin handed her her horse's reins.
"What, you're not going to hold them for me while I mount?" Jane questioned, but still smiling.
Edwin smirked. "Well if you insist," he took back the reins to hold the horse still. Jane put her foot in the stirrup and mounted easily.

"Hey Katrina" Gavin stepped out of the shadows "Good to see you" he was sure he was acting strangely, but tried to pretend as if nothing were wrong, and hopefully not give away his plan to flee.

"Of course!" Adrienne exclaimed, jumping around excitedly "Thankyou Maud!"

Katrina smiled softly. "Good to see you too. Here, you hungry?" She held out a pastry wrapped in a napkin.

Jane grinned down at Cliffton. "We ought to get going before it rains," she suggested cheerfully. Edwin mounted his own horse and headed towards the gate, not bothering to wait for either of them.
 
Gavin kicked his stolen apple core behind a box so Katrina wouldn't see it and question where it came from "Very" He nodded.

Adrienne quickly da ther self down on her bed and Clader flew up beside her "What kind of cake is it?"

Katrina sat down on an overturned crate. "How are you feeling?" She asked, referring to his wound.

"Lemon poppyseed," Maud replied promptly. "I know ye aren't too fond of the seeds, but they taste quite good with lemon."

"Anywhere except here," Jane replied.
Edwin waited impatiently at the gate for the two. "Quit your chit chatting and come on," he teased as Jane rode up beside him.

"Still sore, but much better" Gavin nodded, gently lowering himself onto another crate "How're things at the castle?" He wasn't great at starting up small talk.

"They feel funny" Adrienne agreed, picking at one of the seeds on the cake before trying a piece and thinking for a moment, before saying "But it tastes good"

Cliffton rode up behind the two "How about we go to the woods?" (
