The Welsummer Thread!!!!

So, what's everyone up to this evening? Me and my family are just about to watch American Idol

I've given this a lot of thought, and I find the information on the white welsummers interesting, BUT it is a Welsummer Club website that promotes the breeding of pure welsummers to the standard. So with these birds not an "accepted" variety and won't be anytime soon, then I think it should be removed from the club's website.

Not going well......trying to figure out how to make one!

Wanted some blue partridge Olive Eggers by crossing my Wellie roo over Amercuanas but not sure which way to go. Get a Blue Amerc. or Blue Wheaton Amerc to get that color AND olive green eggs.

I've been researching this myself. Its one of the reasons I've been trying to find blue eggs. I've got a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and two Blue Wheaten Ameraucana hens. I'm putting one of the wellie hens in with that roo and hoping for some olive eggers. My understanding is that you will be able to tell at birth as the pea comb and blue gene are linked, so any offspring with a pea comb should be olive eggers.

I think the blue wheaten ameraucana would be gorgeous crossed with a wellie roo!

So far all I've done is blacks. But I do have a blue olive egger from my other rooster, that depending on her egg color, could get crossed with my wellie roo.
