At seven days incubating, ALL eggs are viable! Seen a few embryoes moving! Talk about going for the 100% hatch in two more weeks! Now, lets see how many will make it to lockdown!
Way to go Faye! Your superb packing made it possible for ALL those eggs to develop into something! Plenty of spider webs on those yolks! A few of the very dark egg shells, it was a bit harder until I had to move the light to one end to see something and seen some veins.....
Just checked the incubator I built. I can't believe how rock steady the temperature is holding. Seven days into incubation and I think tomorrow I'll try candling and see what's happening. The Speckled Sussex broody I've got on a 6 egg clutch of Welsummers is sure sticking tight. I think I've only observed her off the nest once in ten days. The other broodies I have wouldn't stick at all. I've managed to break all of them save one and tomorrow I'll spend a little more time working with her.
Hope everyone is staying reasonably cool during this hot spell. I've been trying to get everything done before 10am and then sit inside and watch movies.

Good luck with your incubation and broody! I hear you on the heat, we have turkeys as well and check everyone's water and make sure they have shade to hang out in durning the day. So far so good
Tried to candle those dark eggs and the little flashlight is woosing out. I will just watch from the window for any leakers.....................
Faye....where did you get the parents for that batch of chicks above??? I remember you'd said you got rid of the hatchery stock (had a red rooster and a brown hen out of those eggs.......) and got in something better??
