My three year old son just looked over my shoulder and said "those eggs have Ovaltine on them!" Which is as good as saying they are pure gold eggs. Boy are they gorgeous!!!!!!!!!! Who did you buy these from? Wow, they are SO lovely!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I actually took my chances again with Ebay! I won the auction for 8, and they sent 14! 2 of them were weepy when I took them out of the box (on the bottom of the box, so I 'm guessing small fractures in the shell, didn't candle to check though). So I still got to set a full dozen! If you want, I can look up the ebay user name...

I might just have to keep all the girls and replace my layer flock with wellies and wyandottes!

Nuttin' wrong with that!

Estes Hatchery is having a special on several breeds of pullets this week only. One of the breeds is Welsummers.

I am not getting any, as I plan to hatch out some of my own this summer, but I just thought I would let you know.

My remaining Wellie girls (her name is #10) last 8 eggs are chirpin' loud and clear in the hatcher. Only one pip so far and wouldn't ya know it, it is at the wrong end, but it is still chirping and rocking.
I hope every one of these eggs hatches and are girls............. we all know I've been hatching tons of boys lately..........

for girls for you.

My girls are now 18 1/2 weeks old. These last few weeks have been dragging, as I eagerly await those eggs. And they're nowhere close, not even squatting yet. Still small pink combs.

Chooks~

All of a sudden after looking in that nest box for a couple of weeks and coming out empty handed......you will be doing the egg dance all the way back to the house with a pretty little Wellie egg.

I put my first 4 wellie eggs (from my own girls) in the bator- and they're GOOD!

Can't say the same for the EE eggs though. Apparently my Ameraucana roo is still shy.

But at least I have some chipmunks to look forward too.

Has anyone every tried hot hands or heat packs in the bator when you have a power failure? I got a bunch just in case.

I got that too and the temptation is too good! However I will try Whitmore this time because of different lines than my Calicowoods girls.
