I have a next to impossible wish but thought I'd post it here anyway.
I need to preface this with 1) SQ isn't important, we have no roosters so there will never be any 1/2 Wellies running around. 2) HEALTH and egg color is of the utmost importance. 3) We have pred proof coops & runs, a huge fenced in field for free ranging. Life is pretty darned good here for our chickens. 4) Must be NPIP
We can comfortably add 2 to 3 Welsummer pullets to our flock. Unfortunately, they need to be between the ages of 11 to 14 weeks (now) so that after quarantine they are the same age as the chickens in their coop. I want to keep the coop drama to an absolute minumum.
I've thought about looking for Wellies at the National this fall (at that time the age would need to be POL), but, I'm a Germ Freak, but still open to the idea. We've never had a sick chicken.
I had two Wellies from a Hatchery but their eggs were a very light tan, not what a true Welsummer egg should be.
Shipping would be fine, just not right now as it's just too hot.
Please feel free to PM or E-mail. Thanks for reading this!
