The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Caroline, that's perfectly acceptable and not a fault or DQ of any kind. Actually, he is quite a nice looking bird. Personally, I like to see a bit more red mottling in the chest but that's just me. Overall, a very nice looking bird.

God Bless,

Royce, I was led to believe that white fluff on the tail area is a no no but it must be slate or grey in color.

In my eyes, it looks more grey than white..it could be just the photo but I do agree with him, he is a beautiful roo and now if you can work on getting his offspring a bit more red in his sons chests, all for the better!

You all have some beautiful pictures of your Welsummers! Keep them coming!

I have a Wellie pullet that went from no comb to a decent size comb in the last week or 2 and it is reddening. How long until I should start watching for eggs? She hatched the beginning of May.

Thanks,
Mine are under lights with my laying flock. Now I need to get their breeding pen done as well as the pen for my Langshan trio I'm picking up this weekend. My LF Cochin's combs combs have reddened a long time ago and have not started laying so I wasn't sure.
Thanks
