MY FLOCK JUST More Than Dubbled,

I had 1 Welsummer & 4 hens,
I just bought 5 Welsummer hens and a new Welsummer Roo.

I have 11 Welsummer Now!!

The eggs I am getting are super Dark,

For Welasummers
They put some Peoples Marans egg to shame. jk

I Picked out the darkest eggs for most of the Pictures. What Do you think BYC

Right now my eggs average about 3 - 7 on the marans egg color chart

I am showing some of my old bloodline soon, I don't think my new girls are ready. We are going to do some serious hatching to keep our egg color.

No, it is rare to get this dark but as long it has a terra cotta color, ranging from orangish red to brown reddish, it would be fine.

As for me getting the club started, it was talking around of having a Welsummer egg color chart but it is expensive to get one made.

From what i know not many Welsummers lay dark brown/reddish brown eggs, most are terracotta color from what I've seen.

I was very fortunate enough to come across a good line,

Not all my eggs are this dark, only about 3-5 of my hens lay the eggs in the pics.
& believe it or not, I have seen welsummer eggs far darker than my own.

I had a chance to get them once, and I like a dummy turned them down.

I have not heard from the breeder ever since.

I swear those eggs were as red as Spagetti Sauce. I AM TALKING RED - CHOCOLATE.
