Then I'd say that's as dark as they will get. Hatchery lines are not known to have the darkest eggs. They breed more for high production.

what do you mean by dappled chest? That roo is lacking breed type totally and that tells me enough. Type comes first. Piet

Interesting comment....will you please clarify what you are seeing or not seeing so folks can learn from the example? While it's not a breed that I'm working with, I'm always interested in learning about other beeds. Thanks.
