The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Hi, Im new to the chicken world and this board.
I live in Louisiana, and have been looking for anyone close that breeds Welsummers with no luck.
Can anyone help me find a few of these beautiful chickens???

heres a few pics of my chicklets..my wellie roo is very shy.that c,wyandotte seems to be the head honcho right now ..i think its a roo as well..he/she gave me a pretty good bite on the back of my hand the other day ..i am hoping the wellie roo puts that one in its place ..i notice most of the time the wellies tend to stay away from me ..the wyandottes come right up to me and peck at me ..atleast till i pick them up and hold them ..
heres a pic of a group ..can anyone see what they think are more wellie roo's in any of my pics ..i am supoost to have only one ..but then again i was suppost to have al;l pullets in the wyandottes and i am pretty sure theres a few roo;s in there ..lol

i have been able to see his comb for awhile now ..hes starting to get some darker breast and tail feathers then the others ..i hope he turns out to be a great bird as pretty as the one posted up above by jr..i noticed on the wyandotte that there was some lite brown feathers on one of their breast ..and i am pretty sure they are not suppost to ..i wasnt real happy when i noticed it ..was hoping to breed some show birds for my grandaughter to take to 4-h fair ..

I just ordered a chicken and an egg off the internet..to see which one comes first..

Thats cute!!!!
Im so excited I found some Welsumer chicks in La. that will hatch next week.
After lookin through this post, Im gonna get a Roo too.

Well, it seems I found my lap chicken, and it was NOT who I expected! Coconut Meepleton, the Welsummer, had a rough day today - she wasn't sleeping very well unless I held her (I swear, I watched for a long time before I intervened! This is not a ploy to snuggle the fluffies!). After our daily photo shoot (during which she fell asleep), she didn't want to leave my hand, so we did a little computer work together. She sat with me for a LONG time, and I loved it! 5 days old, already breaking hearts.
