I had the same thought when I saw the pics the other day. I couldn't decide roos or pullets, the combs look like pullets but the color of their necks look more like the roos I didn't keep. I ended up with three pullets and three cockerels, two pullets died. I kept the best looking cockerel so hopefully I'll hatch out some eggs soon. Mine look more like yours, the roo is my avatar at 20-24 weeks, can't remember. He has longer tail feathers now, beautiful bird.
They're pretty, and nice birds, but nowhere near the proper SOP for Welsumers having multiple faults.@aart I was going to say but mines prettier, but with your second older pic I don't think I can say that Lol! Nice birds! Your roo definitely is heavier than mine, mine will be a year in May. My pullets colors are just like yours, but I think mine looks a little fatter. Wellies are awesome birds, and their spotted eggs are cool to. I can't wait to hatch out some more. Is your roo friendly? My roo is the only friendly chicken I have. All eight pullets (even the one wellie pullet) avoid me and the kids.
