I don't know!!!!!! It drove me crazy. I have 2 Wellies and 2 Buckeyes that I hatched out in April ( I sold the rest of the hatch). The rest of my flock are older hens that molt in the fall and don't start laying again until spring. I don't give them heat or light in the winter months. All winter long I kept hoping for eggs from my 4 pullets, I had counted on them to provide me with eggs through the winter, but no luck. Their combs stayed pink and I knew they weren't ready. It drove me totally crazy though to get on here and read about everyone's Wellies laying earlier than mine. The longest I have had to wait for a pullet to lay was about 35 weeks, and that was with my Delawares. I'll post a pic later. I am sure it is an egg from my Welsummer, it is dark and speckled.
