sorry,no .
she had a wellie roo and marans girls and wellie girls in 1 pen.i actually wanted only the crosses but i got 2 pure wellie eggs.i died at hatch and this guy.the maransx were all black.

thanks for setting me straight....you should do some test matings and hatches with him when you get some hens, he is a good looking roo, bet you will get some nice birds out of him.

Ok. After getting all this great info off this thread, I see all my wellies are pullets! Yea! I am very happy to have these girls and to see all these great pictures of how they will turn out and especially the eggs. I noticed some like the smooth colored eggs and some like the speckled. To conform to the standard, is there a preference?

I thought you said he was 5 months old?

1. Any time now (will attempt to at least)
2. Any time now (again, will attempt to at least)
3. He may protect, he may not. Many roosters (the only ones that survive here) do not protect their territory from me. I won't put up with a bird that attacks.
4. Should begin growing spurs soon. 6-7 months is generally when I see significant spur development.

Note: Males and females can and will grow spurs so it is not a sure fire way to sex birds.

Yah but I was just wondering about the spurs now that I know he's a roo

I was wondering if you guys think that he would attack my 1 year and 4 month old Rooster. The older one is a bantam so he is a lot smaller but I'm pretty sure they know that Louie, the older bantam roo, will stand his ground and is in charge. I just don't want Louie to get hurt

lol He has been my favorite ever since we got him when he was two days old. Anyways, do you think he will hurt him?
