My, what an awesome webmistress!! Now I have to go out and look at your handi work. Guess my pic of the BLONDE chick in with the other chipmunks could be used. I will get a pic of my white chested day old chick, too. Bet you already found pics of WHITE chicks.

So few chicks hatched. Gotta cull 7 out of 8 of the group that had the blonde chick and so far at least one out of the 7 from this hatch due to the white chest. 76 eggs and will only have 6-7 chicks to allow moving up to feathering in to see what they do! So sadddd. And we are hardly beyond the down stage yet.

I'm just hoping there will be some hens left.

They will all be around for a couple months. Have to do the photo journal and have SOME fun. Then off to barnyard flocks they will have to go. I will make them really sweet first though.

It's all good. Had to help a second chick out of the egg, it was shrinkwrapping at 70% humidity and I hadn't opened the 'bator at all, I was so good. But it was probably from not turning the last few days due to staggered hatches being every 3 days. That is apparently too close together.

It's all dried and in it's little box in the brooder for overnight. Needs supervision with those 3 day old chicks and a bit more get up and go.

So that is 4 chicks from one supplier and 3 chicks from the other. I really love the cute factor though of chicks that first week and a half!

Still 20 eggs or so in lockdown. Not holding out a lot of hope for them hatching.

It's after 1 am, hope I don't wake up for the day at 5:30 am again. Today's to do list got chicken/alpaca chores done, but nothing major on the list got accomplished. Try again in the morning!

Ewesheep, I went over to the club site to check out your handiwork on the DQ and that is an awesome job of things to NOT BREED. It is great to have them all on one page and explained.

Thank you so much for all your hard work today.

Thank you! There was plenty of head thumping between me and Webs...had to fight for the pages and it won't let me put another page so I had to sacrifice one page for rules of the club and figured if I don't update it, might just get rid of it until futher notice instead of letting it "hang" in there while I try to find definations. I would just go by what the majority of our members want and I would try to adjust things around.

I would need to clean up the other threads so it would not be "repeated" when they are already in the disqualification slot.

Sure I can use some DQ photos! Now if we can have pictures of feather stubs on an adult, that would help too!

Someone mentioned if I can put in the lines of these DQ birds and I said no because ANY Welsummers CAN inherit these traits so no lines are immune to it. One line that rears its ugly h ead more often than not are the hatchery birds. Other lines, you just have to keep culling, working from that specific lines that you want to keep maintaining.
