The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Sorry, I couldn't get to the pictures until today. I only have 1 welsummer pullet laying right now, so it's not a great representation of the different wellie colors/speckles you can get, but here it is. The picture is taken outside in natural light.

Welsummer eggs on the left - Barnevelder eggs on the right.

Tell me what you think about the disposition of those 2 breeds. I have 6 Welsummers (from Cackle Hatchery) and they aren't very friendly. If I'm going to move them or check them over I wait until night or they just freak out! They are also very vocal, I think. Would love to hear your experience.

and as far as I am concerned I love the word "coppery" and it's the only way I can describe the Barnies eggs too.
