The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Pink:

OK, here are some pix of the chick in question. I am 99.999% sure that my brown-egg-laying Ameracauna flew over into the Wellies' nest boxes. It makes no sense that this wouldn't have shown up before for you or that I would have gotten only the one like it out of about 50 eggs. Pardon the pee in photo #2.......... And OF COURSE -- you bet I can pass some birds on to you!

Do you have a photo of the EE bird? I bet you are right that it is from the EE. Hard telling what is in a EE blood...and looking at this chick a little closer the breast color of it does not look correct for a Barnie cross Wellie. When I got Wellie x Barnie chicks they came from 3 separate breeders from 3 corners of the country and if memory serves me correctly they didn't have this color chest.
(I did not breed any of the birds that came to me crossed that were suppose to be pure....they were all culled)
I will look for a photo of those Wellie x Barnie chicks and post when I find it.
Thanks for posting this photo, Bee. It is a cute chick!

Oh....one more question.......does this chick have a single comb? What kind of comb does you EE have?

Vanalpaca~ If this chick was going to have muffs and a beard it would show the muffs at hatch. :)

Sorry Beesong...didn't mean to repeat the question of what the EE hen looked like, when I first opened the thread to read it, the photo of her didn't show and guess what??????

DING DING DING......that's your baby momma!!!!!!! And she is a pretty girl! :)

Too funny! What a sneaky little flyer she is........... She certainly pulled one off on all of us for a while. I'm relieved that she is the cause.

She was just trying to get your attention, LOL!

P.S. This chicks leg color should also be "off" as you watch it age. :)

It will be interesting to see how this chick develops. It's going home with my friend from Vashon with several of the Wellie chicks so we can keep an eye on it. (Said friend isn't interested in breeding, so it will be a good spot for said chick.)

OK folks, a heads up!!!!!!!

I've been getting alot of folks wanting contact information on the WCNA Breeder's section and it is frustrating for everyone involved. Many of them have "dropped" from the face of earth, with emails being returned back or invalid.

To be fair with everyone, PLEASE include your contact information, such as your email addresses or your website link. I do know there are folks out there that would get "spam" emails or viruses being attached to it but it is imprudent to check each and every emails you get and use caution. As far as I know, I never had any viruses or spam resulted from the WCNA website.

I am purging the Breeder's List and it is presently under contruction, so you will see a blank slot for now. I will be working on it little by little, not over exerting myself at this point but it has to be done in order to be successful and promote the business between the breeders and customers.

If you don't see your name on the list, give me a HOLLER!

For those who INSIST not to give out the contact information, I would need your email addy or website link to refer the customer AFTER I get a forward notice from them. Any emails I get from interested parties will be sent forward to you and it would be up to you and the new customer to correspond to each other regarding to Welsummers.

So what I need from all of you that are in the business in promoting, selling Welsummers are:
Name
City, State
Website link
Welsummer size....large fowl or bantam fowl
Welsummer lines/strains (ie Lowell Barber, Calicowoods, Estes Hatchery, etc or name of one of the WCNA breeders)
What you offer (ie, hatching eggs, started chicks, adults)
Do you ship?

Please PM me so I can get this list off the ground as soon as possible!
