The Wyandotte Thread

I'm sure that I've asked this question here before, but don't have time to read through the whole thread looking....I do know that when I asked for a breeder of good Golden-laced Wyandottes, I got no response. So does anyone know which of the hatcheries has the best quality Golden-laced Wyandottes? I've got some hens from Ideal, I like them (good layers and broodies), and want to get a couple of roosters to go with them but the quality of the birds from Ideal is pretty iffy. Several have single combs, most are not well-colored, at least one has an upright tail (single-combed and small-bodied, too boot), and a couple don't have good Wyandotte conformation. I could choose two or three decent hens out of the nine I've got. Suppose I'll probably have to do the same with any hatchery birds I get, but I'd like to get the best I can find!

Thanks!

Kathleen

I've asked about gl also. I ended up buying the "black" blr wyandotte. They look like my beloved gold laced, plus I can breed them with my blr roo and have sellable chicks.
However, that being said, have you gone to Stromberg's hatchery? You can buy gl from the prominent breeder's section.

Thanks -- the Wyandotte Breeders of America site is one I'd already been to, and none of the links to the pages work. But I'll check out the other site.

And I'll check out Strombergs.

ETA: The KATRIS site is in Australia! They appear to have some very nice birds, but I think shipping would be prohibitive!

our gold laced came from the feed store - they look great to me.
i don't care about show quality, however i HONESTLY can't tell a difference between mine and those which have been expensively and carefully bred and shown on this thread as "ideal examples". the feed store guy said his order came from privett hatchery which is in the far east of new mexico. they have a website but their online catalog has never opened for me (could be my privacy settings?) so you might have to contact them by email.
