Pretty sure that is a pullet. She has too much lacing on her wing and back to be a roo... I think.
Some example so you can see a roo compared to pullets several different ages.

Can anyone tell me where I can get Blue-laced Red Wyandottes that were from Jesse Paul' s old line? I think his are the prettiest I've seen, but I've heard he doesn't breed and sell them anymore. Anyone know who bought his birds?
Thanks for any info.

I don't have blue wyandottes but as I understand it ALL blue birds should have lacing.
not lacing like the blrw or silver or gold laced have... the blue 'lacing' is simply a darker edge on each feather of a blue bird... splash won't show it, some blues don't. but a properly marked blue would have a medium grey center with a darker grey edging. it's a bit visible in smee, my blrw bantam, if this pic helps... he's not double laced, it's jsut the blue edge is wide enough to show blue and the darker grey outer edge on some of his feathers.
here's the full sized pic, then a closeup (blown up a bit) of his chest/side, lightened a bit to show more contrast
here's a pic of an andalusian that shows good blue lacing. i snagged off another post... NOT MY BIRD (from https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/680454/an-unusual-chicken-rp)

again not lacing genetically, like the silver and gold laced, or blrw, but you see the effect of the blue gene.
IMO if a variety has to be kept OUT of direct sunlight for any reason, there's something wrong with the line...Are there any color varietys that need to be kept out of direct sunlight for showing?

This about white was brought up on another thread a few months ago and there was some discussion about rec white vs dom white. I can't remember how that shook out but what sticks in my head is Rec white is better, but the dom vs rec and yellowing I can't remember. My WL don't have it.... hum. It was also brought up on another thread about cuckoos getting straw coloring in the feathers that molt out and must be sun bleaching. I would like to know if it a genetic thing or not.

well, joe said initially he had problems with yellowing but was able to breed it out... i don't know whether it's dom or rec. white (dom i think) but i do know that his line also carries cuckoo (barring) discovered when he crossed out to silver grey to improve size and type. yeah pretty sure dominant, he said every now and then, very rarely now, he might get a throwback. that would only happen with recessive genes hiding for a while.
wow! ok. SO interesting!
