You're welcome! He's so good with the hens and around the kids. He still seems a little light to me, for his size, but I have to keep reminding myself hes still a baby!!

beautiful! !!!I'm just so thrilled to have these I just have to post a picture of one! This is one of my chocolate Wyandotte pullets I just bought. These are Foley breeding so they are the sex linked chocolate, not the dun.it amazes me how friendly they are even though the breeder didn't handle them as babies.![]()
Sorry to hear about his injuries. Maybe a coon tried to pull him through the wire and tore him up.Our one true white wyandotte breeding rooster is likely going to die. For all the animal illnesses/injuries, I've never seen anything as horrible as I did when I came home today. Our breed is separate from the rest of the flock in a nice 4x6 pen, has his own feed/water and roost. He's been active, crowing, eatting and acting fine all week.![]()
I was out checking peeps and went to see him also. Hmmm-he has black on his beak...and his rear. I opened the pen and his entire rear was coated with maggots and he was nearly cut open from his abdomen to his anus. We cleaned him up, I used hydrogen perioxide and then used vinegar after a quick web search. Gave him a shot of Tylan. Dried him good and have him in the "Chick-U". He is a full brother to last falls National champion at the Ohio Nationals. We had hoped to start a breeding flock with him, not sure if that will happen now. I have no idea how he got opened up like that since he's alone.
I had planned on just euthanizing him, but he was walking around and active and didn't look like he was in shock yet-so we're giving it a try to save him. I told the kids not to get their hopes up at all.

Thanks. I just checked him, he's sleeping. Poor boy. Such a friendly rooster too. I'll have to find a picture of him to post.
