The Wyandotte Thread

One of my friend moved her chickens into my coop and the wee vary mean to mine so we had them move then out and they picked my chickens backs to the point that they had no feathers when will they grow back for show
And my other chicken was the lead chicken and after my friend chickens left she is now no the lead chicken it is my whindot and she was always vary shy
Why was my bantam rooster not picked on by my friend chickens

Help

I got 6 st. run. Wish I could have bought more. Sorry phone camera makes my pics with the flash too darn yellow. Some guy around here breeds them. But actually got them from second hand guy. So were the first guy got his original stock from, no idea. I guess we will find out when they get older. LOL They are fat round little things I will say!

Does anyone know how long it takes SLW to develop the pretty lacing that I was hoping for? Mine are largely black with splotchy whiteness at 2 mos. Just wondering. Thanks!

usually at that age, you should still see lacing developing. here's a pic of a couple of my silver laced cochins i hatched out a while back.

cockerel at 4 weeks old

pullet at the same age...

and the same pair at 3 months. don't have 2 months.
the cockerel. sorry it's teeny...

and the pullet

I recently made a LinkedIn account for school and found other poultry people and was super excited to talk to them. Come to find out they are pretty much all industrial farms :(. I saw a bunch of them complaining about cocssidius and other diseases and they are all asking, "Well how do I prevent it?". I just want to scream at them and say, "it's called letting them breather fresh air and not be in such cramped conditions they get sick all the time!". I'm surprised how much disgust I felt reading their comments. Screw LinkedIn Backyarchickens are all the connections I need! And I also know everyone here has their chickens best interests at heart and not their pockets.

@Ki4got - Great looking SL cochins!
