The Wyandotte Thread

Does anyone know where I can order Silver Laced Wyandotte hatching eggs in Canada (specifically BC/Vancouver Island)? I am also looking for Light Brahmas and Barnvelders. Thanks!

I have a silver laced wyandotte that is particularly aggressive, it's only about two weeks old now but it actively attacks me any time I put my hand into the brooder. Has anyone else ever had this issue with this breed or did I get a literal bad egg? Also could the aggressive behavior possibly mean I have a rooster? Will post pics soon to see if that helps. I have always read this breed is sweet and mellow but not my baby! It charges my hands and pecks me any time I am in the brooder, even if I am on the other side changing out waters and such.

No I have not had the happen with My GLW they run away from my are shy and sweet. Sorry the chick does that it could be a ROO.

I came home from work the other day to find my 8 weeks old SLW dead. No signs of injury of symptoms of illness. All my other birds are ok though even my GLW.

since your in Florida maybe it was the high humidity that killed your girl.

Its hot but this summer has been a little milder than most. Humidity is very high always. Could have been the culprit but not sure my SLW was the biggest of all my chicks but my GLW(whose my favorite) is fine. Oh well I'll be replacing her this weekend and might come home with a few extras!
