Wow, you don't do anything halfway do you?

I am tearing my coop down in embarrassment and starting over, that chicken coop is SPLENDIFEROUS!

i understand that. i only had about a week to build mine and it was the coldest days of the year and i had a foot of snow on the ground and it sucked! then i found out my nail gun broke when it started to shoot nails all over lol. but now i keep thinking of all the improvements i can make so i am always tweeking things lol. but wow your coop looks amazing! it looks like it belongs in one of those fancy magazines

Very NICE job! I have to agree... I started buying materials last year and have worked almost every free day on my new building and I am still far from done. Don't get me wrong...I am thankful for God providing a means to build this building but it has about worked me to death to... lol

Wow, that's an awesome hen house, and did I see TREE TRUNKS for roosts?? Um, not just branches.....tree trunks?! AMAZING! You're doing a fabulous job.

This heat has been awful in Ohio too this year, but just recently, the humidity is letting up. Almost all summer, when I would do the gardening, or just go out to feed and water my flock, I would be dripping wet with sweat. It was awful.

Now, it's been so nice out! Humidity has been down, and temps in the 70s or low 80s feel really great. Sleeping with the windows open at night....Wonderful!

I don't blame you, if it's that hot at your place, be careful to take a break, hydrate yourself, and rest!

Holy Cow that's more then a chicken coop. Shoot, if you ever get rid of your chickens you could rent that out as an appartment!!!! Makes me want to sell all my small coops and start building one big one. That is outstanding. Soooo, when you are finished you want to come over for some tea, we can talk......... hehehe...............

Those are 2 super nice chicken homes...... they don't even rate as coops.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It does encourage me to keep on going. I have a few more pics of the beginnings of the pen. I need to spend some time trying to create a home page.

This is a view of the gate opening. I'm going to extend the roof 4' to cover the walkway across the front of the coop. Where the ladder is will be the feed room.
