THEY ARE ALIVE! help please!

It's good the chick pipped the membrane and VERY good you noticed the bigger vein. Since it pipped the membrane the chick will now start absorbing all the blood...just keep a very close eye on the membrane and drop a couple of drops of water from time to time to keep it wet enough so that chick can breath

Take that thing outside and smash it with a hammer. They are worthless and most times horribly inaccurate. My bet would be not only has your humidity been too low but your temps have been 1-2 degrees too low this entire time....that would account for everything.

The thermometer I use was bought at Wal-Mart, is digital, and has a probe so I can check the temp from 2 different location in the incubator by flicking a switch. Costs less than $15 after tax and works religiously.

Totally agree with broke down. Go to Walmart and get a combo humidity and thermo. Also, get a wiggler. In my still air I had to get my temps up to 103.5 to get my "in egg" temps to 100. After I figured that out my hatch rate soared!!

Biggest thing now!! KEEP THE MEMBRANE MOIST. They have a tendancy to dry out under normal condition, more so under these conditions.

Just remove little by little. I have had a few do well under these circumstances so Ill keep my fingers crossed. At day 24 he is going to be weaker than normal......

I will do that asap.. to walmart today!

Chick #2 membrane was so dry looks like it should crack
chcikm is breathing but no peeping, I wet membrane but cant find beak yet

baby #2 I still can't find an eye or a beak. I moisened and let it sit. I dont think it will do well since it is hardly breathing

Kess, I would peel it back more. If he is not doing well and may not make it, what do you have to lose?

Slowly unegg him, stopping when you see blood, if you can at least get his head free he can keep breathing.

JMO...........
