They are not fine.

I know, just past experiences with things i have been excited about always got cancelled so i guess i have a phobia that these wont hatch. but if these dont come out in a week we'll be ordering chicks. it'd be so cool if these are successful though

I'm optimistic for you.
This is my first time incubating eggs and it's for a work project. I work in a child care centre as a Lead Educator and I'm hatching chicks with the children in my room. My eggs will be at day 14 by 8pm tonight and after doing so much reading I'm very anxious. So much can go wrong and I'm worried I've screwed something up along the way.

Wow, me freakin' too lol. We're day 22 right now so not doing so hot, but as far as out water test has shown us, all our eggs are viable so I hope they hatch within the next week or else this project has been a bust. I'm sure if you keep to the instructions you have been following, they should turn out fine. i happen to have a starving curiosity so its really hard not to candle them. we already violated lockdown by taking them out. your eggs should be going into lockdown in 4 days here. what kind are they?

They should be fine. I've read that some hatch late. They'll come out when they're ready :)
I don't know anything about chicken breeds bit the lady that donated told me 8 are Frizzle x Silkie (one of which I lost to early death at day 7) and 6 are Columbian Pekin.

As they're for a work project I didn't plan on keeping any past the first few weeks. I have a home for 2 of them and plan on finding homes for the rest. Since we already have two chickens at work I might be able to keep one or two (I'm hoping). The lady that donated the eggs said she can help with re homing too. My brother helped me build a brooder box which cost me roughly $100 including wood, wire, staples, screws, hinges and the heat light socket and globe.

400

That's an awesome coop, great job!
It's hard being patients, I know!

Same, nice brooder! we just found our backup chick source so i hope float testing them didnt distrupt them... im still a little skeptical, only a few of my eggs candled positive the day before lockdown, but now being 24 hours overdue and we water test them and all of them are viable? life finds a way huh....
