They are poisoned again!!!

They are having all the signs of being poisoned. I just gave them apple cider vinegar to help it. We are going to get it tested.

Fish Prime?!?!? As in tap water conditioner for aquariums?!?!

Yes, you’re probably right, they are most likely poisoned... because you’re most likely adding the poison!

Why are you adding the prime?? What’s wrong with tap water, that’s what everyone uses for their farm animals. Where did you get the idea that you could add aquarium chemicals to your ducks’ drinking water? I’m almost positive that all of those bottles regardless of the brand have warning labels stating they’re for fish tank use only and not for drinking water, and probably directions in case of ingestion...

Put a case of bottled water out in the sun to warm it & use that as your drinking water? I've also seen ducklings get 'shocked' by cold water, so it's always best to warm the water beforehand if at all possible.

And I’d only give them bottled water or filtered water until you get your water situation figured out.

But do NOT add that fish prime. It’s not supposed to be ingested.

If it happens again how should I get the charcoal in? It doesn't go in a tube and they won't eat when they're like that.

I would not give charcoal. Next time you fill their water, fill with warm water, not cold water, and if they look like they're gonna guzzle a bunch, let them drink a little, remove it, wait 15 minutes, return the water, let them drink a little more, remove water, and repeat this until they are not guzzling.

Yes they did have Chloramine at one point. Maybe they put it back in?

To make it clear: The use of Chloramine is as safe as chlorination. - The problem is that any time you change the chemistry inside the water lines, unexpected things will happen.

How do you know they were poisoned? Did you locate the source, are you suspecting the water? Have you had the water tested? Are they penned or free ranging?
