They want to make it ALL illegal. What do you think of Senate Bill 510

I like the part (in Rep. Scott Baker's reply to Elissa707) about protections to encourage small farms. It reinforces the likelihood that this bill will not affect seed saving and backyard gardens, nor will it hinder roadside farm stands, farmers markets or small producers who serve other small businesses such as restaurants and caterers.

Our representatives are not about cultivating Big Business monopolies. They're here to represent interests in their own states, including those of small businesses -- whose collective tax payments contribute plenty to state coffers.

I'm still screaming "NO"!

I don't think S510/House whatever would protect anyone from individuals sprinkling poisons on salad bars. The threat was only to restaurant foods, there was no documented threat to the widespread food supply.

Unless this guy is selling more than a half million $$$ worth of beef he will be unaffected by this bill.

This is not about safety. It is all about power and control. Self sufficient independent people are the enemy of the state. It undermines their ability to manipulate for their own gains.

That's simply not true across the board. Maybe a handful compared to the majority. We're talking elected positions! For those you think are the power-usurpers and exploiters, who voted them in? There are 300 million people in the U.S., many of them voters and most of those are not the super-powerful elite. They're "regular joes and janes" like us'n.

Yeah that is true but what about all the illegals that they are letting vote, huh. You know they are just so that they can get more votes. They would not even let Arizona check I.D.'s this last election so that they could try to get more liberals up there to get things like this passed.
Then look at how most of the legals are voting. Don't think they have it all there, know what I mean.

I would venture to say that the majority of citizens in this country are uninformed about any current events/politics. They would much rather be watching t.v. than look into the things that actually matter. The difference between us and them is that we care- whichever side of the argument.

The apathetic ones aren't the ones voting, then. People who care, vote. So, if we're not happy with the quality of our regions' congressmen and senators, we who care must be the ones to vote them out of office, and support the ones we believe in. They don't get into office by themselves.
