They won't be quiet- Loud , VERY LOUD constant peeping 24/7

The brooder has temps on one end of 90, and the other end is around 78. They don't huddle. I try to pick them up and cuddle, and they still scream. I reach in and pet them. The one being pet is sometimes quiet, but the others are screaming. I let them out of the brooder to play in the room, and they are scared, and THEN they huddle. It's a little chilly outside still. I did take 2 outside today. One screamed the whole time. I just can't seem to make these chicks happy.

I think I'll try the feather duster. It may work, or it may scare them into screaming more LOL

When the feather duster is in use for chicks and we have more hatch we have used a fluffy stuffed animal.

Well, I was at my wits end, and was willing to try anything. So, I put a stuffed bunny in the brooder. I noticed several chicks trying to sleep while the others walked around disturbing them. I took the tiny little dark chick and placed her by the bunny.
Things were quiet later, so I went in to peek. Little dark chick had lost her spot to the chipmunky chick. I ouldn't help but laugh at how the little one was sleeping.......

We'll see how long they stay asleep. They may very well still end up peeping all night.
If they do, I'll try a stuffed fierce looking dragon LOL
