Hoping I don't sound like a mad woman who's running on 3 hours of sleep, (because who can sleep with chicks in the mail?!), but THEY'RE HERE THEY'RE HERE!
All the way from Cackle in Missouri to Northern California in 3 days exactly, 16 healthy little fluffy butts! We ordered 15, 5 Barred Rocks and 10 Easter Eggers. They sent an extra EE.
Got the call right at 7am this morning from the PO, "Your chicks are here!". We pulled around back of the post office and oh my gosh y'all. I could HEAR THEM peeping from INSIDE the building as soon as we got out of the car.
Our regular mailman was the one who actually handed them to me. He said, "I would've brought them to you, but you don't look like you could have waited", lol. Was it that obvious?
Got everyone home, gave all a dose of PND and into the brooder pool they went. Had 2 slow ones I was a little concerned about at first, but after a couple of doses of PND (miracle juice that stuff), and a few minutes warming up in the Mama cave, everyone was running around eating, drinking, and pooping. Had one little pasty butt I had to clean, it took a few minutes, but she has since recovered her dignity and is hopping all over the food trough pecking her siblings. I even have one little precocious stinker that's already learned to hop on top of Mama Cave and is eyeing the edge of the pool. Hmmmm...
Everyone loves their food and is drinking their vitamin water like it's going out of style. I'm really proud of my Chicky Hoop Coop Mama Cave I made. I'll try to remember to post pics on the MHP Brooder thread when my brain recovers from the excitement of the day.
But now for the REAL reason you're here reading this...blurry fluffy butt pics!
I'm so in love...I thought my heart was going to explode when he handed me that box behind the post office. They're all I've been thinking about for the past 3 days. Just praying and fretting, please get my babies here safe. Well thank you Lord!
Ok. DH says I have to walk away from the chicks and eat some food.
Seriously? Who can eat with 16 floof poofs in the house?!
