Just got the notification that my baby chicks shipped from McMurray today. Although they won't be delivered until Monday. Will they be okay with the extra day's lag due to the Holiday? Are there any extra precautions I should take?

Prepare to pop them right into the brooder under heat the second you get them home. Also, if you can have some "Save-a-chick: on hand, give them some of that immediately. Then enjoy them!

By the way, have you checked out the latest in chick warming methods, the "Mama Heating Pad" chick cave? It's here on this forum. I get my chicks in May and I'll be using this new method with them for the first time. No more dangerous, stress producing heat lamps!

They're here! Got a call from the postal distribution center today asking if I wanted to come pick them up rather than them having to sit on the dock overnight. Got them into the brooder and they all seem to be happy. Some are hanging out under the ecoglow, but most have been pecking at the food.
