thin shells

At least 1 of our 11 hens laid an egg with such a thin shell that it broke when she sat on it. We have been putting calcium in their feed, but they don't like it.
 
My chickens have ad-lib oyster shell which they all use. I still have the odd one who lays a thin shell now and again. Nothing to woryy about but let them decide when they need to take in the shell, it works for me.
 
I put my oyster shell in a cup on the coop wall and they just eat it whenever they need it... they are good in that way, that you don't have to guess what they need they just know and then go find it...
