Things Irritating relatives do...

debiraymond, that happened to me on Thanksgiving. I was expecting about 10 people, and had shopped for food for that amount. Then everyone canceled out on me. After I stayed up all night cleaning, and everything was perfect. Very aggravating, and you have all that food left over!

Yes, what kills me more than anything is that Thanksgiving was the first meal I cooked for them and it tanked. Turkey ws dry, stuffing over seasoned, the gravy lumped, etc..... And then today was PERFECT!!!

I can't imagine cancelling for a holiday meal like this. You can cancel for other occassions & BIG parties (i.e. lots of people there & you won't be missed), but for a sit-down dinner?!?

I'm not trying to be disrespectful to this thread but I think everyone should be thankful you have family no matter how aggraviting they can be. I only have Snakeman and one sister. My sister suffers from mental illness{depression}. I have not talked to her in over three weeks now. She will not get out of the bed, not even today to talk to me. I have cried off and on all day so I guess this would be considered the irritating thing my only family member has done. Please remember to love your family guys. Its not any fun not having them.

Other than that depressing note I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

Big hugs to you, Chilling. <HUGS> My DBF is in a similar family situation as you. It's hard to be w/o a family and yet heard others complain about theirs.

What's your mailing address? I'll send you my aunt AND throw in some Christmas cookies to offset her bitterness.

Hey Chiilin! I am sorry you are having a rough time. this post was about irritating things, not deal breakers...... I love these kids and they are always welcome here. I just wish they had let us knw YESTERDAY that they weren't coming.....

Don't get me wrong, I love my family. It's just that I can't deal with them for any length of time. My husband was so worried when my mother came down for my surgery. He was afraid that all she was going to do was her usual fuss, fuss, fuss. (I would use another word that starts with a "B" but there are youngesters here) But that is her normal way. It's gotten worse as she has gotten older. She seems so unhappy and I don't want to invite that into my life. We were pleasantly surprised that we really had a good visit. Only one fussing and that only lasted a minute. I even told my sister that it was the best visit we ever had.

My husband didn't know my younger sisters name for 6 months after we had been dating. I called her, "My sister the "B". I swear she has a split personality. Wonderfully pleasant one moment then looks like Regan from the Exorsist!! My neice, who my parents have raised since she was 11 is just as bad. Everything is about her. She is the center of her on pitiful little world.

My poor Dad has to live in that mess. No wonder he has a heart condition and high blood pressure.
