Yes, the shortest day. Least daylight hours...... Chickens spend less time eating, more time sleeping. Forget to lay eggs. (kidding of course).

and can tell you that there is MUCH more chicken poop in the house then their used to be.......

I have become far more tolerant of icky things. Not sure of that's a bad or a good thing..... But when a chicken poops on my shoe (or lap), I check to see if it's a normal one, and if it is, I am happy. No biggie - it wipes off and/or washes out.
