Things you remember but that most young folks never heard of. Pre 1980

Does anyone remember the shots of the wall coming down? I remember being a very young mother and wishing that I could travel to Berlin and dance on the wall. LOL

The smoking area in high school ours was outside the cafeteria and always full of students during lunch. Oooh and skoal can rings in the back pocket of most of the guys jeans!

A teacher's room that was really a smoke filled room

School closed due to hunting season - ours wasn't closed for hunting season, but we had a lot of kids absent when it was time to harvest tobacco. Plus the ag kids grew tobacco on our school lot back behind the track! LOL!

Computers that weighed more than I do, and do less than my laptop

TV's that didn't come with 56 inch screens

modems you had to connect to the phone

no video cameras

photographs that had to be developed

kids allowed to carry backpacks in school​

I have saved several papers reporting on the twin towers, also video taped several news reports. I save them for my son, I just wanted him to be aware of the significance of what had happen that day, we should never forget...

My husband kept lots of different papers and magazines from 9/11 as well

Showing your 8th grade teacher a picture of a "reusable" spacecraft project NASA was working on. Being laughed at and told "That's never gonna happen"

I still have the picture somewhere of me next to a model of the Space Shuttle at Kennedy Space Center. Always wanted to track that teacher down and tell her, "TOLD YOU SO!!!"

Thinking (like everybodyelse) 2001 Space Odessey was just someone's wild imagination.

One thing I remember telling my daughter about that she just cracked up about was 8 track tapes! I remember listening to the Beach Boys on 8 Track tapes!
