Sorry my career choice isn't good enough for you, I am not going to change it because I'm "wasting my potential" in your eyes, can you not accept this is what I want to do? This is what I'm passionate about, it's my life. Not yours.

and Wish I'd had the sense to say this to my mom, all those years ago! Well said! It's your life, live it for you and nobody else. If somebody chooses to be unhappy about it, that's their choice.

Thanks I'm wanting to be a dog trainer and a groomer, I absolutely love doing it and groom a few dogs in my neighborhood. My family just really wants me to do something else, they say I'm wasting my smarts, I'll get tired of it, it's not a good job and I'll be broke, nobody gets there dogs groomed regularly....it's hard to stay strong with what I want sometimes. I've considered being a vet tech at least part time though just yo please my family

Awww I’m sorry I think that’s a great career!!! It’s definitely hard though at times but I think worth it!!!

But it got to a point I didn't actually want to I was just going to since everyone said it's what I should do and what was expected of me, when I told people I changed my mind they were shocked and now my parents keep pushing me to be a vet or a tech or so many other things instead if just accepting its not what I want to do

I think training and grooming are both great options and they’re wrong… people always need their dogs trained and groomed. Especially with all the new mixes now lol

Exactly what I've tried telling them, they never got any professional training or grooming done so they don't/wont get it

As long as you're taking care of yourself and are happy, it's no one else's business what career you choose.

The solution to your problem is fairly evident and has been offered by several people. Since you don't choose to follow the advice given, I would suggest you dispose of all of the animals that you own. There is a fine line between ignorance and abuse, and you have crossed it.
