Not exactly. I'm saying the roots of rap and hip hop go way back, and yes, chanting is a part of those roots. Cultures the world over have some form of chanting in their musical history. Rap is credited with coming out of the Bronx, but the roots go way deeper.

Everything is connected, somewhere in the past.

Except country.
