To the Hacker who broke into my elderly friends account. You sent emails to everyone on her contact list, then wiped out all her files. YOU JERK.
I really can't understand why anyone does this. Too much time on your hands? Why don't you put your "skills" to something positive?
I don't think you can possibly appreciate the emotional stress this creates. I hope you rot in ... what ever is the worst possible scenario you can think of!

NPR did an interview with a professional thief who had 'reformed'. HE was the victim of a thief and was very put out by the amount of collateral and emotional damage he had suffered.
He didn't seem to be self aware enough yet to realize the untold damage he had inflicted on his victims.

I answered a scam call. It said it was from ohio. It started with a robotic voice and I said "hi HI are you from Ohio?" It said press one, so I pressed one and someone started talking. I said "hi are you from Ohio??? I just LOVE OHIO" in a crazy voice. They hung up.

Pushing a button isn't going to give them access to things on your phone from a phone call, but it does let them know that your number is good, that you responded, and they can sell your number to every other scammer out there.

I usually don't even hang up, I just turn my phone on mute.
I was just bored to I decided to answer.

We once had a scam number call us 18 billion times a day ( not actually but it felt like it! ) they called legit every 5 mins. If you picked it up it asked you for your credit card number or something else incredibly stupid, only a idiot when tell them. So sometimes when we just couldn’t take the excessive ringing we’d pick and and scream something like....” GO AWAY YOU FAT MOLE RAT “
