Things you wish you could say

It's not. We're working on it and he is trying but he just doesn't see how things are offensive and thinks I'm just sensitive. Which fine, who cares if I am you can be thoughtful about how you say things you don't get to tell me how to feel.
I really hope you can work it out.
In my experience, it hasn't worked out. Because the gaslighter (aka narcissist) never grasps the idea that they are wrong.

Being in HR I regularly wish I could say "what the @#$% is wrong with you?!?"
"You'd have a better chance at getting hired you you 1. Bathed before interview 2. Wore proper adult clothes, not your pjs for your interview. And 3. showed up on time/ at all for your interview."
Thanks! In colonial america I would be considered close to death, lol.
Happy belated birthday! So like 80?:old

"You must be new here".

Dude, you've been a manager for a week. You know from the 2 years you've worked here how things work. A title change does not change the fact that you were already told this was a non-starter as you presented it, and what you can do to have it reconsidered. You have zero leverage over any team but your own, and you need to stop thinking in absolutes and start thinking in weighted cost/effects like a manager.

"closed won't fix"

I forget sometimes how rare and sacred technical people who can actually also serve as great leaders of people can be. I'm super spoiled by my own managers, and today is a reminder that I'm a very lucky SOB. :)
