Things you wish you could say

This:

In the real world, scientists never, EVER get to say “I leave you to research the details/source/data” in a professional report or setting. If we did, we would be clearing out our desks by the end of the day.

So saying it makes you sound less — not more — informed.
Sounds like something I'm guilty of TBH. Anyway, what especially bugs me is when people raise vague objections for reasons like "There are disagreements among scientists! Why should I trust their conclusions more than those of random people?". You can't really provide someone with data if they can't state what specifically they're referring to, and conflicting findings should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis rather than "throwing the baby out with the bathwater".

I just need to say: Turkeys are weird!

(That would have been off-topic in the thread I was just reading, where a "weird growth" turned out to be a perfectly normal part of the turkey. So I'm saying it here. Thanks to @Nabiki for making such a useful thread!)
Turkeys are unique. Guineas are weird.
