Things you wish you could say

Oh I do! I doubt my husband knows where the washer/dryer are though.
I taught my wife how to do laundry. She had a bad habit of murdering clothes when we first moved in together, because no one ever taught HER the right way. We split the task now, and all of our kids do their own. I'm also in charge of appliance maintenance, so I definitely know where the washer/dryer live and am intimately familiar with their inner secrets.

Parents, teach your children basic life skills. They won't be under your wing forever and will need to fend for themselves and their own family someday. Plus every time I see someone my age (20's) who can't do something basic I die a little bit inside. I was watching a guy on twitch who was 2 weeks older than me who didn't know how to cook which is really unfortunate

My DH's mother had the heart of a servant. Which means, she nearly had a heart attack when I taught him how to load the dishwasher, and to this day I'm not letting him near any other major appliance. He has other gifts. Housekeeping is not among them and that's okay with me. ❤️

I've seen some parents who don't. One of them doesn't believe her child is responsible enough. It's a real shame.

The mother of my godkids. They're all adults now, and only the daughter has any idea of how to do anything for herself.

If they aren't responsible enough, she should help teach them some responsibility. Either way when the time comes they are going to need to know how to do basic stuff whether she thinks they're ready or not

Honestly, I think schools should bring back home ec and make everyone take it. It'd be more useful than half the stuff they teach

We no longer bounce. Be careful.
Wondering where that fine line is. 30, 40, 50 years old? Either way, it hurts!
I forgot to get the dog's permission to precede her down the stairs carrying a basket of laundry. I should also note I was wearing socks. So, when she inevitably pushed past me, she upset my balance just enough to cause my footing to slip because of the loss of friction.
Waiting for Thor to do that exact thing to me. Hoping you heal soon

Our school has always offered home ec but they call it different things now. Culinary arts, home improvement skills, sewing and crafting. This way, they are offering different classes for the same budget. My son signed up for Culinary Arts this next school year. He's very excited

Thank you! I'll look into it.

:yesss:100%! I started my kids helping with laundry almost as soon as they could walk. By the time they were 9 years old they were doing their own all by themselves, including their bed linens.
My mother had a foolproof way of making us all do our own laundry. She would reliably either shrink your clothes or make them emerge from the process with pink streaks.
Any sign that she was about to do laundry would be met by eager volunteer to take on the task instead.

All my notifications are so easy to find, and I can see that tag again from @BigBlueHen53 ... Sorry, everything has been hectic lately and it's easier to see new posts than ones I was already interested in.

It was about the chick occupying my hands. So umm, she wanted me to hold her and like a ditz I forgot the incubator was empty, probably because I'd just finished scrubbing and sanitizing it and was about to set more eggs. A few hours after my post it finally dawned on me to just stick her back in the incubator on some papertowel :th
(I swear I need brain vitamins lately).
But we had to put her down the next morning, she was just too weak. I probably shouldn't have helped her hatch but there's always hope, right?
The other 7 are happy and boisterous and enjoying their new brooder plate, and I like those 3 heat settings a LOT! I think I'm giving this a great review.

Now the incubator is stuffed with 48 eggs. Personal best stuffage of NR360. Yay.
