That's my other 'pet pev'....and was 'inline' to what I was saying, sorta....if your so intelligent, why are you asking for answers to your questions if your 'highly intelligent?....stop wasting our time and yours, do your own research.Listen. You've been asking the same question for days. And you keep getting the same answer, from not one but several of BYC's most expert chickeners. Why did you come here? When are you going to believe us? What will it take to convince you? Why are you wasting our time? Go away.
No. You're insecure. I get it. You won't be convinced until your bird either crows or lays an egg. So we'll just keep assuring you until your bird confirms what we've been telling you. It's all right. It's what we're here for. Sigh. I need chocolate.
Dumb means that they can't speak. Stupid is as stupid does, in the wise words of Mrs. Gump.I wouldn't call it stupid, that means they can't speak,....ignorant is the appropriate word. No offense.
Oh, your right, how stupid of me!Dumb means that they can't speak. Stupid is as stupid does, in the wise words of Mrs. Gump.
Am I stupid for trying? You can't fix stupid!![]()
Sounds like he has too many enablers!Am I stupid for trying?
My Godson is driving me bonkers, but I've agreed to try to teach him two days a week. He hates to think. His ambition is to have AI think for him, and was so disappointed when I told him how wrong AI is most of the time and how important it is to think instead of just relying on and believing AI. He still expects the people around him to do all of his thinking, cooking, cleaning, shopping, and money earning for him, though. He's 23.
His mom loves him too much. Both of my godsons have mental issues, the oldest passed away almost two years ago now at least partially because he needed help that he didn't get (OCD, hoarder, terrible, terrible diet).Sounds like he has too many enablers!![]()
This is not a "wish I could say", but ... my DH can't cook either. He's brilliant in many respects but his late mother was like that, an enabler. She about had a cow once when I casually asked him to help me load the dishwasher. I don't know if she thought it was "women's work," or that he was too precious to do it or if she thought he was stupid. She never taught him to cook ANYTHING. But I'm going to teach him. I'm diabetic and have osteoporosis and other health issues. He needs to learn how to take care of himself. I'm going to teach him to cook .... and do laundry, too. Like, immediately. He may not always have me.His mom loves him too much. I'm trying to get the younger one to learn to be at least a bit self sufficient. He has OCD and asperger's. He's not stupid (or he wouldn't be if he did more than play games and watch TV/YouTube all day), so he's trainable, I hope. His mom actually admitted to me a couple weeks ago that maybe she might have held him more accountable.
He used a stove for the first time Wednesday. I made him read the instructions on a package of ramen and walked him through making it. He was insisting on trying to use chopsticks to get the last bits of noodle and I offered him a wooden spoon instead. I asked him if he'd rather spend five minutes trying to use the chopsticks or 2 seconds using the spoon, and his head nearly exploded trying to make the decision.
