if you were able to pick out males and females between day old and 3 weeks old based on melon heads or dainty features iam to beleive it was purely coincidental

I wouldn’t till they lay the first egg or at least 4 months old. So just hold off on oyster shell too until then. My ducks eat layer but I still offer oyster shell.

Your going to need a weight on your duck probably.

Accurate weight is needed.

Baby it’s doing wonderful! I want to thank everyone for the help you gave us when I was feeling helpless about baby he looks and acts like a completely new Duck. His feathers are growing and he can walk longer distances and stands for longer periods of time. The inflammation went down and he is almost heal. The change of feed to duck pellets are doing wonders on all three ducks. Thanks from the bottom of my heart

Unless they have an autosexing breed(Welsh Harlequin) your out of luck. Some claim males are more calmer when picked up,I myself have not found that very reliable, Only other way would be to vent sex them, which can be very hard for beginners and i don't think that would be best done in the store.

I always seem to get males at TSC too.
