Thinking of buying my first incubator. . . . Need help with everything

I just ordered my second Brinsea Eco 20 today. I've had the first one for over a year and I love it. Great hatches, easy to clean, easy to use.

Hello everyone.

I was in the market for my first incubator. After reading this thread today, I just ordered the Brinsea Eco 20 along with the turner.

I was considering the TS LG only because I can drive 10 minutes and have one. But after reading about them online, a lot of people note inconsistent temps. I just don't want any hastle.

Wish me well with the Brinsea. I have 6 french black copper marans eggs coming.

Thanks everyone for the advice!

Fun, fun, fun!

Talked to my husband and he was not negative

(that's good, I've given up wanting a "whoopee!"

from him, so not negative

is good)

The Brinsea Eco 20 is looking good... I can afford it. Now a question (my not-negative

husband asked this)... Do I NEED an automatic turner?

NEED?

It will be pushing it ($) to add it to the order. I have never owned an incubator before so I know nothing. (Just LOVE my wonderful broodies!)

How much time and effort is put into turning... how critical is it to do it right... precisely on time... is hand turning actually better... worse... equal if done right... than automatic ? ? ?

Want to order

I have had 4 lg's and if you are not home all day and night to monitor them they can swing temps quite widely. So far with these brinsea's they are spot on! It only fluxes within .3 degreese and my household temp goes down at night from 72 durring the day to 65 at night. The still keep temps dead on! Here are mine....The one on the Left has been up and running for 3 days (temp is down a bit here in this pic because I had just opened it for the first time to check the water level and add water) the one on the right just came and is heating up now. I hope to fill it with eggs this week.

Beautiful setup. What do you have your thermometer probe in? It looks like one of those wiggle toys. What temps do they run at and is it fairly consistent? I'm torn between the Eco vs. Adv model on the Brinsea 20 and am wondering if it's worth paying th extra for the Adv.
