Thinking Positive!

Well, this is my first time incubating quail eggs. I have 16 Button eggs on day 7 in the incubator. Thinking positive thoughts, and decided to set up the brooder. Right now I am raising the light to get it to a constant 95 degrees. I don't know if I will have any hatch since the temperature in the bator has been consistently shifting slightly, but I am going to hope for the best. One question I do have is in regards to lockdown. I have been keeping the humidity in the mid-fifties. The only way I can keep it up is to use two soaked sponges. If we are not supposed to open the bator for the last three days, how do you people keep the humidity level up? I also need to take the eggs out of the turner, which makes me wayyyy nervous just thinking about it....

You can open the incubator the last few days, just do it quickley to add the humidity.

Put the sponges in a bowl of water so they will stay wet. You can leave the eggs in the turner, just turn the turner off

They can get hurt that way, take the racks out of the turner and set them on the wire.

Their feet can slip between the racks of the turner, and where can they stand for 8 hours until you get them out?

Still their legs could slip and why would you want them under the turner? They could also hurt their necks if they fall through on their way to the open space...
