Herbs can lift it to a higher level of delicious. I like thyme to feta and olives and oo. Scallions and cream cheese is my go to instead of sour cream and onion chips. Parmesan cheese blended into scrambled eggs is a whole nother experience. I have not braved adding a spoon ful of spagetti sauce and oregano. The best part is if you don't like it, toss it to the chickens.
Garlic with or without bell pepper is pretty good!

Good returns. FUnny long legs was pushed by the ag schools --legs are useless.
Worse than useless - at harvest time, we have to pay for them!

You are becoming their momma.

bo's are a dellight!!
"Cept this one is uber-cute, and was co-twin to a bull calf (=possible freemartin). I have to NOT get my heart ripped out by her. Biggest hurts I've gotten on this farm were from bottle babies!

Sorry to hear about your wrist-- been there done that-- kicked by a 6m colt. HIGHLY recommend using the services of an orthopedist that specializes in wrists. My general ortho said he could do it-- NOT-- resulted in 9 months of useles PT and going to a specialist to fix the work done the first time. Lot of wasted time and money on PT and percoset and goldfish!!

Glad you are safe-- mommas can be very dangerous, as you know.
The cows we inherited were almost all crazy - every calf tagging was like today; MIL & her Ex did not know how to handle animals. We kept the heifers from his grandpa's original herd, and raised them with lots of TLC & attention and started over - life got much safer. I suppose I got too complacent. Could not believe she went for me!

Quote: As you know, not really her fault, she is following the instincts of mommas and their new babies. I am always careful with my mares, they love me but hey love their baby more. You won't get complacent again ever. Sure hope your wrist heals well. I was told to expect arthritis-- I have been bypassing that via diet. A low carb diet compared to the typical American diet. I know when my wrist hurts I have been indulging in too much rice, bread, sweets and milk, etc. GOod reason to live on vegies, some fruit, beef and eggs.

Yes, I know it's not her fault. I can't even imagine thinking you're done with birth, then suddenly you're just starting - plus you've got this darn kid bugging you! She was pretty calm this evening, tomorrow we should be able to tag the bull calf - depending on how fast he runs! If not... well, we have the option of one untagged calf of each color, LOL.
We've only had one cow that would take both twins, but fortunately, we rarely have them. DH has always sold cows that throw twins to avoid repeats. This one... probably not. Last year was her first calf, and she birthed and raised the biggest steer of the bunch. He was talking about adding her to the 'must propagate' list if she even came close this year. One reason we didn't realize twins were on the horizon - she was so big last time, we just assumed it was another big calf. Both twins are normal singleton size - she must have one heck of a uterus!
We don't eat much in the way of refined carbs anyway; almost everything we consume, we produce, so that means lots of beef, eggs, chicken, fruit & a few veggies.

I want a goat. A dwarf one. My husband says no though. :( does anyone sell the poults? I am in love with these guys! I hope my eggs hatch.
