Well I messed up yesterday.. I cut half of my fingernail on my thumb off with a machete in the chicken yard. It's gonna be a long summer...
Oww, owwww, oww, oww, oww!!! Pour sugar on it to stimulate the regrowth. Then smear it over with Neosporin or Triple Anti-biotic Ointment.

SouthernFLock-- that looks soooo painful!! BUt I am VERY glad you didn't take your thumb off!!! Bet you will be MORE careful for the rest of your life-- pain is a potent lesson. Hope it heals quickly!!

A bit of weirdness, from what I've read on BYC anyway...
Penelope and Jake spend the day cruising the yard daily with their "ET" brood, three of whom are now the size of young pullets. BUT!!! Penelope has begun laying eggs again - and THIS time, they're fertile! She's made a nest in a berry row out front, and spends her nights on it, with eggs and juvenile chicks - which makes for one HUGE pile of turkey!
